The Girl Who Cried Wolf

May 03, 2017

It's that time of the year again, and the Big Bad Wolf is coming to town!

No, it's not that Big Bad Wolf you usually read in fairy-tale books, although it does have a relation to books.

Yep, it's the annual 2017 Big Bad Wolf book sale! Where a selection of books of many genres goes on sale for up to 80%. The sale is held between 21 April until 2 May for a whole 280 hours non-stop in the newly opened convention center, ICE BSD Tangerang.

As you can see, this is a major haven for book lovers allover the city. The event was crowded most of the time. I, myself, who is pretty much an avid book reader, went to the event for 2 times thisweek.

The first time i got there, i was so excited and immersed seeing all of the books that are on sale, and eventually forgot to take pictures. It was a weekday, so it wasn't as crowded as i expected.  I only bought 2 books the first time because i was pretty overwhelmed (and because i didn't bring enough cash, oops.), because of those reasons i decided to go for the second time, this time with my family.

Because it was a public holiday (labour day), the place was more crowded than the first time i got there, but still, it's pretty comfortable to look at all the books and choose which one to buy and take home, although we have to be more careful of our belongings because of all these people packed in one big hall. (because you'll just never know these days hmm)

It's really easy to face a very life threatening dilemma while choosing books (can any of you relate to this?) when there are so many great and interesting books to choose from, but with limited time and a budget to manage. I ended up throwing all of the books i found interesting into my shopping cart, and sorting it all out later. Luckily, there was a sorting station (a space where you could sit to double check your shopping cart, and put aside books that you end up not buying) designated for those who have the same issues as me (haha). I really liked the fact that they understood the customers really well!

As you can see, i bought many books and can't wait to read all of them! I bought some motivational self-help books, cooking books, a guide about wines, and a travel guide about Paris, that i believe would come in handy in the near future.

How about you? Have you ever gone to a book fair? What was it like?
