Photo Hunting and Crazy Stories #1

July 01, 2017

A few days ago, I went photo hunting around Jakarta with my friends (we are by no means professional photographers, but hey, we just wanted to have fun and try out new things!)
We wandered around South Jakarta and discovered some interesting places.

First of all, some background story. (A little TL:DR so feel free to read or just skip to the main content)

It was a pretty crazy morning that day, and it was because we had some kind of transport 'mishap'.
Basically, the Uber we ordered got tolled by the police in the middle of the road, something about a fake license plate (yikes) and they had to bring the driver (and the car) to the police station for further interrogation. We were starting to panic, when the police officer went in our car. He said he would drive us to a nearby spot. At first I thought he would get us to a safe place, so we can order another vehicle, or maybe get us to our destination (we hoped), but that wasn't the case. He dropped us in the middle of the road, so we had to cross the busy streets and walk for awhile, not to mention the sun was on full force that day, until we found a taxi!

But anyway, it felt really surreal and we couldn't believe that just happened to us! We ended up laughing at it and still managed to have a great time. (we didn't have to pay for the Uber, by the way) Well, another story to tell to our grandchildren, I suppose.

All rants aside.we finally ordered another Uber (we ditched the taxi because the fare would've been very expensive) and finally arrived at our destination.

The first place we went to was BUTFIRST Coffee shop in the Dharmawangsa area. It was a cozy and quaint coffee shop located in some kind of building which also had another cafe and a shop. I really felt the boho vibes this building was giving and really enjoyed my time there.

The next place we went to was Nolita Coffee and Comfort Food, but it turned out the one in Kemang was already closed and under construction! But we managed to take a picture at a spot just outside the Cafe.

I decided to split this post into two parts! Because Nolita was closed, we went to another spot. Where did we go next? Stay tuned for the next post.
